Looking Beyond the Past

Phil. 3:13,14 "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching fourth unto those things which are before,
14. I press toward the mark for the prize..."

As I was praying one day, the Lord reminded me of this verse in Philippians. He said to me, "In order to move beyond the past, you will have to do more than endeavor to forget it. You must reach for what is before you!"

As long as you are only trying to forget without reaching forth to the things before you, you have no new goal, vision, or picture to replace the old one in your mind. Stop rehearsing the past trying to find a way to change it - You can't! You can let go of it by embracing a new thought with life and victory in it, straight from God's Word.

Rom. 12:2 "Declares God's Word to have the transforming power to move you out of the conformity that you were once in, into the glorious liberty of Christ."

Paul said in Phil. 3:14 "I press toward the mark.."

Take the Word of God and press the old image out and replace it with the new, the Word of God!
